Magazine Cover Analysis
- This magazine is aimed at men you can tell this from the black and white colours bold fonts and primary image of a man. The masthead is orange to stand out this is bold and the primary image covers some of the masthead as this is a well known magazine. The primary image stands out as the point of focus because the man is lookin straight towards you. The magazine comes across quite formal with bold simple but striking coverlines and leads. The unique selling point is 'FREE WORKOUT POSTER' this draws in audiences attention.
Brief
- For my brief i chose to aim my magazine at sports people in schools. I chose this mainly because i am keen on sports and have some good ideas on what people would like to read as i am one of the target audience myself. As i am a sporting person and take part in sports activities i could get first hand information back easily, which is advantagous to myself.
- I am going to be aiming at a broad range of people as everyone in school takes part in pe and most in extra sports clubs so i have a vast target audience from 11-18. The magazine will cover sports upcoming fixtures, clubs, reviews, interviews, sports news on ther rival sporting schools and for older students university sports information on where to go with sports after school.
- I currently havent decided upon the title of my magazine some ideas i have had are half time, time out, full time and energy.
- As the i am targeting 11-18 year olds it will have to be widespread in information so that everyone will be interested.
- The theme of the front page will consist of three main colours white, red and black I have chosen these colours as the are quite neutral by means of gender choice of colours as the magazine will be aimed at both boys and girls.
- The cover shot will be ollie as he is a well known face in sport around the school and has great character from his joyful/crazy pose.
- In the magazine there will be interviews with teaching tips on how to improve in that relevant sport so people can also learn from this magazine with positive results people will soon get a liking for it.
- the example of language I would use could be ollies owngoal this is short and direct giving readers a good base of likely events so they wish to go on and read the article.
- My magazine will be quite a serious sports persons magazine with some humerous extras to keep young serious sports people interested.
